If  your property has mold or mildew, then mold restoration is highly important. Mold in your property will gradually cause a lot of damage and will spread if left to its own devices. This is because mold spreads through the air as mold spores which can travel from one surface to another. Thus if you have a moist environment with mold spores in one far corner, this will gradually cover more of the walls before also starting to set in in adjacent and opposite walls, and in spaces around your property.

The mold will then cause damage to your health in several ways. First of all this will happen as the mold spores get breathed in and thus enter your lungs. If you have a breathing problem such as asthma then this will worsen it and in the short term might cause an asthma attack. If you don't have breathing problems then this can actually cause breathing problems and even bring about the onset of asthma.

On top of this mold can also cause eczema and other skin problems, and if you don't get mold remediation then you can find that you develop itchy, dry and damage skin. On top of this the mold will damage your property – looking unattractive in itself, but also causing your wallpaper and tiles to come away from the wall and get damaged. Mildew in your furniture can cause that to collapse too and to crumble and it's generally very bad for your property to have mold and not get mold remediation.

So if you have mold then you need mold remediation. But what do you do if you don't know whether or not you have a mold problem?

Well there are many ways to identify a mold problem within your home. First of all, if you have a mold problem then you will notice that your property is very moist and you might find that it smells damp or that your items within the home feel damp. You will also be able to see mold appear in the corners of the rooms and the ceiling. This is a black, blue or green fungus that looks like spots and which gets lighter as it gets further from the center.

The common places to look for mold are on the ceilings because steam will rise and because the roof is often where the cold and the dampness comes from. Bathrooms and kitchens are also very likely to have mold problems because of the amount of water used within them, as are colder rooms like porches or conservatories. Finally look around the air pockets in your property which will be the places where the least air circulates. This means checking behind wardrobes and cupboards as well as radiators and curtains.

If you are unsure whether you have a mold problem, then it is possible to get mold inspection. Mold inspection is a professional service that will identify the nature of the problem as well as which mold cleaning procedures are needed. You can then get mold remediation as necessary.
