There is something magical about a fireplace, and if I had a say in how homes were built, I would make it a must for every home. They provide lighting for the home when a fire is lit. In cases of emergency they are the only means to cook. The list is long and there are many reasons for you to have a fireplace in your home. If it is purely for decorations, there is nothing that changes a room from dull to a classical room that has taste, other than a fireplace.

There will be no shortage in the amount of electric fireplaces, which you can purchase.
If you are going to install a traditional wood burning fireplace it will be a little more troublesome to install. Unless you are a licensed contractor who is building wood burning fireplaces for other people, this will be one project that I will advise you to skip. You will have to consult your building code to see if you can install a wood burning fireplace to begin with, not every home will be allowed to have one since in some places it is considered a fire hazard. It is also not easy to build the sections of the fireplace, which connects with the chimney.
