With Ulcerative Colitis there are too main considerations with treatment, one is to try to get the disorder to go into remission and keep it in remission, the other is to give pain relief if the Colitis does flare up again. A cure of course would be ideal but there is none as such; Aloe Vera can help with both the symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis and with putting it and keeping it in remission. With such a serious condition it is not a good idea to use Aloe Vera alone, you may though find that it works better than other drugs or you may worry about the side effects of drugs; Aloe Vera may in some cases let you cut the use of other medication down, if your doctor advises such a course of action.

Aloe Vera can be used on internal and external areas, externally it is applied as a gel. Internally Aloe Vera juice can be drunk, some people dislike the taste but it can be mixed with other flavors. Aloe Vera has healing properties and anti bacterial properties meaning that when it is applied or gets to a damaged area including dry skin and also internal and external ulcers and sores; the effect is that areas heal more quickly and once healed remission is more likely. For the sufferer having wounds heal quicker and with much less chance of infection is going to improve their quality of life and stopping the number of wounds and ulcers linked to their condition getting too much to cope with. Healing with Aloe Vera is still not instant and so the anti inflammatory properties of the plant are perhaps even more welcome when used. Engorged and swollen wounds, skin and ulcers cause far more pain than the same problems with this natural inflammatory used to cut swelling and pain linked to this.

A problem with internal ulcers and sores in the dietary tract and especially in the intestine is that even when sores and ulcers heal they often see scar tissue and abscesses. It seems that Aloe Vera partly through helping wounds heal quickly helps them heal neatly. Abscesses can be sensitive as well as cause pain. In some cases abscesses can even lead to blockage and build up that can lead to severe complications such as toxic poisoning.

Aloe Vera is of course a natural remedy and has few if any side effects, though do check with a doctor before using it if you have ulcerative colitis. For the body in general excessive use of drugs including immunosuppressants is highly unhealthy; immunosuppressants leave your body open to infection and disease as your entire immune system has to be suppressed, as a result you may have to extremely careful in everyday life avoiding times where you could get injured or pick up illnesses. If you have symptoms from Ulcerative Colitis that could get infected themselves then you have a further problem. If you can get by using Aloe Vera and avoid immunosupressants you may overall be much more healthy and you may be able to carry on with your normal life much more easily.
