If you take the time to look at a life insurance broker and take out a life insurance policy with empire life or another insurer then you have protected your family and helped them to survive after you're gone. You've looked after them your whole life, but even once your gone it's still important to ensure that they are provided for and have everything they need in order to carry on. The existence of life insurance in their life you see will make a huge difference to how they live and will make a huge difference to the way things turn out for them.
If they have life insurance from a company such as Empire life then they will be provided for and they will be able to cover the costs of living, the costs of your funeral and to maintain the quality of life they have become accustomed to. However just to outline what a big difference life insurance makes, here we will look at what life will be like for them after your gone without life insurance, which will explain just why it's so important.
First of all, if your family don't have life insurance then that will at least half the income that they are getting – that's presuming you both worked. If you were the only working party in the family then that will mean that they have no money coming in at all and that they have zero finances. They will want to mourn about your death and they surely will, but they will also be highly distracted by the cold and unpleasant thought of their finances which will get in the way of healthy grieving.
This will then also mean that your partner is forced to take on more work, or to work more to support the family. Even if they were the primary earner in the family, Empire life or other life insurance would allow them to stay home and look after your distraught children. However in this case they will have to look after themselves or to be shipped off to a Nanny or boarding school. In other words not only have they lost you, but they will also have lost the full support of your partner – just when they need it most. And that's not fun for your partner either who will be stressed and forced to focus on more work while they feel at their lowest point.
On top of all this they will have to pay for the funeral themselves and will lose yet more money that way – again something that Empire life or another life insurance company would normally foot the bill for. They might even be forced to downsize and move into a smaller home in order to pay the bills and that would then mean that you had the emotional upheaval on top of what has just transpired of having to move into a different home in a different area probably knowing no-one. This is of course a highly upsetting time again and it will leave your family with nothing that's familiar or comforting left.
