Destin Fishing Charter companies report a bumper year for deep sea fishing in the gulf. Customers and Captains are beaming with smiles as both parties have a lot to smile about. Customers have flocked back to the region after the gulf oil disaster of 2010 and got back to doing what they love best - deep sea fishing in Destin Florida. Captains have been overjoyed by the amount of people who have decided to come back to "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village" and enjoy their annual fishing trip. For anyone who lives and works in Destin Florida or anywhere along the gulf coast that was affected by the 2010 BP Oil disaster, 2011 could not come quick enough. Even though Destin was largely spared from the oil touching their white sugar sand beaches the financial impact has devastated the town and especially the deep sea fishing industry which brought tourists in droves each year. Destin fishing charter boats were docked for most of the year and their bust spring and summer months were completely quiet as fishing was banned and the constant news of devastation kept the regular customers away. Many fishing companies could not keep up with the losses and had to shut down their business, while others had to rely on a hopeful payout from BP. But, payouts from BP are not what these fishing captains want. They all needed to get back in the boats and take people out deep sea fishing. 2011 proved to be a blessing to the Destin fishing charter industry. Beautiful weather and no storms have seen Destin have one of the best fishing years in many years. Captain Ken Bolden of charter boat "Just B Cause" said, "It has been one of the best years for fishing I can remember with maximum catches throughout the season. It has really been great for the customers and for the city of Destin." Destin is finally being put back on the map in a positive light and the recent proclamation from ABC's Good Morning America declaring Destin Florida as one of America's most beautiful places will undoubtedly draw thousands more tourists to the hidden jewel on the gulf and experience the pleasure of being named "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village Captain Ken Bolden is a Destin Fishing Charters captain who has been skippering deep sea fishing trips in Destin Florida for the last 13 years.
